Belief Trumps Doubt

“Our belief at the beginning of a doubtful undertaking is the one thing that assures the successful outcome of any venture.” By William James

I share this quote with you because belief and doubt simply can’t coexist. So often in life, we want to believe in something – as in our abilities, in others or in a certain outcome and then we shift positive energy to doubt. Can I really achieve what I want? Will someone I depend on pull through? Will I get the result I’m seeking after all? For me, it simply comes down to faith.BELIEVE

To possess belief is to trust that what unfolds is in one’s best interest.

It’s about embracing the unknown by believing in the right outcome. Robert Anthony is quoted as saying “You can have anything you want if you are willing to give up the belief that you can’t have it.”

I was particularly drawn to express my thoughts in the March, 2015 The Network Marketing Magazine about ‘belief‘ because I have an inspirational poster above my monitor that has the following message: “Believe – The start to a better world is our belief that it is possible.” What follows is very powerful. “Believe in your dreams. Believe in today. Believe that you are loved. Believe that you make a difference. Believe we can build a better world. Believe when others might not. Believe there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Believe that you might be that light for someone else. Believe that the best is yet to be. Believe in each other. Believe in yourself. I believe in you.” By Kobi Yarmada (President of Compendium, Inc. Publishing)

It’s irrelevant whether one’s belief is personal or professional. The basis of everything rests in the degree to which an individual trusts the process. The best comparison I can make is that gravity is invisible. You can’t see it and yet, you know it exists. You trust that everything will stay in place. Nothing moves or floats or re-locates. Gravity is a constant that insures environmental stability. The same is true of belief. You either have it or you don’t. It only exists to the extent you choose it to. It’s not visible. There’s no physical evidence. It’s a mindset.

When I left teaching years ago to buy a franchise and then multiple units, it was belief in both myself and the company that motivated a career change. I knew I could handle what was required. I knew I had the talent and confidence to face the challenges of work totally different from what I was used to. I just knew. Somewhere along the line and with what I had already proven to myself, believing in possibilities was a given.

Of course, I have no idea what specific company you’re representing. Because you’re reading The Network Marketing Magazine, or listening to this recording, it’s safe to say you are in some form of MLM. I, too, was in network marketing at one time. We both know the career you’ve chosen and the potential for success is in large part related to your belief. Can you do what it takes? Are you willing to stay the course? Do you believe in the company, the leadership and products and or services it offers? Network marketing is not for the faint of heart. It’s hard work. It requires consistency. It’s competitive.

If you don’t believe with 100% faith that you possess the tenacity and commitment to succeed, it’s likely you won’t. It is and will always be about belief. This industry requires that you trust yourself. Eliminate all doubt. Avoid naysayers. Remain positive especially at times that don’t playout as you had hoped.

That’s when it’s even more important to keep focused. You have what it takes to create the future you want. Just believe it. Period.
