Educational Topic: Motivation

March 1, 2015 Motivation

Motivation seems to be the buzz-word. Seminars are offered, books released and online courses are advertised to motivate you to…….(fill in the blank). Whether it’s motivation to grow your business or yourself, we are bombarded with others wanting to motivate us. However, in my experience, only YOU can motivate YOU. We can learn tips and hear success stories but if we don’t have something motivating us inside, it’s not going to work.

Motivation women recently shared during Xperience Connections meetings. Thanks to the wonderful ladies of the Mableton/Austell, Douglasville, South Atlanta/Camp Creek, and Alpharetta/Milton locations for sharing.

Topic:  There are 3 types of motivation: Fear, Reward and Self. Share what motivates you and the commitment you’re making to yourself and your business for 2015.

  • Letting go of something that has been in the forefront of your mind for some time, but you were afraid to do so. Moving from a corporate job to Network Marketing – fear of financial consequences and impact. Don’t run away from fear, face it and the challenges, you may be surprised at the outcome and the relief.
  • Attend Susan Brown One Word class – seriously this is so good at unlocking the problems and belief in yourself. Some of the one words that people chose were Abundance, Freedom, Believe!
  • Don’t be motivated by fear, transitioning can be a little scary. Trust the Universe – The Law of Attraction
  • To live in fear will affect your health. Work on self-motivation – it’s just so gratifying to help others.
  • Know the value of yourself when providing services. Operating out of fear – devalues you. Set goals, set a schedule and stick to it, focus on having faith. Don’t compromise. Family time and personal time is so important.
  • The  REWARD motivates me and my reward is helping someone.
  • I am SELF motivated to start and end my day by giving grace.
  • I am SELF motivated to go down a different avenue in my business and have made a commitment to finish my book.
  • I am sometimes motivated by FEAR because I want to make sure I can provide for my son as he grows up.
  • I have been motivated by all.  This year my word is “cherish” and I have made a commitment to let things come naturally and not chase them.
  • I have made a commitment to do things that are uncomfortable.
  • I have made a commitment to be laser focused to get the word out about my business.
  • I am SELF motivated to touch my business each day and to no longer procrastinate.  I will love the REWARD when I do this consistently.
  • Self – Looking to grow my business by stepping away from the sales side and teaching other licensed professionals. Goal is to start within 3 weeks.
  • Reward: “my motivation comes from seeing someone benefit from something I have to offer whether it’s a product, encouragement or referral.  I would like to commit this year to focus in on my skills to help others by getting certified.
  • Fear – I believe that facing my fear and overcoming that gives me courage to have an abundant life.  Success is on the other side of fear
  • I have a fear of getting in front of people. I think about my daughter – what am I teaching her? So, fear motivates me to do so anyway and the reward will be showing my daughter that she can do anything she sets her mind to do.
  • Started doing affirmations and speaking what will be.
  • Motivated by accountability.
  • Being intentional – seeing others do it.
  • Hearing the word “no” was my fear now I “Go for the No” which gives me confidence because the person is not rejecting me they are rejecting what I have to offer right now.
  • Fear of failure motivates me. I left Corporate environment and opened own office I want to prove to myself , to former employer and family that I can be successful
  • Reward and accomplishment motives me. Also the fear of being able to provide for my daughter. Regardless of what happens you make it through.
  • Self-motivation from being involved with young girls with low self-esteem. I feel strongly about empowering young girls and women and that is what motivates me.
