Bring Your Best to the World With Your Dreams

dandelionIf you could imagine a beautiful island where you could be your best self and could do those things that energize you, what does that look like for you?

Take a moment to visualize you and your life in a place where your heart’s desires are being fulfilled.

What came up for you?  Let’s do a quick check.

BODY:  What did you feel in your body?  Did you feel light? Or did you feel a bit of tightness in your chest or a sinking feeling in your gut?  Was your breathing relaxed or did you hold your breath as you imagined your dream life?

MIND:  Did you find it easy to come with thoughts and ideas? Or did you experience  mental paralysis or some negative thoughts?

HEART:  Did your heart smile as you created your ideal life? Did you instantly know which of your heart’s desires were being fulfilled? Or did you feel sadness or hopelessness thinking it’s NOT possible?

SPIRIT:  Did you sense or feel that what you imagined was God’s dream for your life?  Did your dream feel too small or GOD-SIZED?

When I recently asked a potential client the “island question,” he did what many of us do.  He did not give himself permission to dream and he argued for his current situation.  He described in detail all that was currently wrong or missing in his life.   It was difficult for him to shift his mind and allow  his heart and spirit to give voice to unlimited possibilities.

In order to bring your best to the world, to grow, and to love your life, you must dream.  What you focus upon expands, good or bad.

Dreaming is as vital to your growth and well-being as your breath.  Dreaming is a source of inspiration in your life.  Did you know that the word “inspire” is an Ancient Greek word meaning “to breathe into; to fill with the breath; to animate.

If you are “arguing” for your current situation, convincing yourself and others that things are too difficult to attain or that you don’t have the resources (time, money are the most common reasons/excuses), you’re wasting your breath.  You will stay stuck in the NO GROWTH zone.  Your life will look like Bill Murray’s life in the movie, Groundhog Day, where each day he experienced the same thing over and over and over again.

To help you access your dreams, I’ve provided my handout, Dream Starters to tap into your heart and spirit, those places where dreams are birthed.

The world needs your dreams because you make it a better place when you’re at your best and doing those things that make you come alive.
