Using Social Media: Automated vs. Scheduled Messages
You might have heard that it’s bad to automate your messages on social media. That doing it that way won’t net you any results. You might have heard that doing it that way will only make it harder to connect with you on social media. That’s completely true. And that’s completely not. Social media is a fine line of interaction and promoting yourself. If you’re in business, you cannot do one without the other.
Automated Messages –
These are the messages that are triggered because something happened. For example, have you ever received a DM on Twitter after you followed someone? Impersonal right? And more often than not they were asking you to check them out on Facebook. Selling to you before you have even created the relationship. These automated messages do nothing to create or foster a relationship on social media and end up leaving a bad taste in the mouth.
Scheduled Messages –
These are messages that you put in ahead of time that still share you message and what you are up to while you are running your business. For example, having a Father’s Day promotion? Schedule tweets about it throughout the coming month to ensure that your promotion is not to be missed! These scheduled messages promote your business and continue to foster a relationship you have started to grow.
